Built on a beautiful piece of property, everything about this home was perfect for the clients except the dated 2000 vibe that needed a major facelift. The kitchen size wasn’t as functional as it could be, so we took care into reorganizing the functional elements of the kitchen to maximize a better working triangle, social setting, and overall flow of the space.

Wanting to lean more into the modern farmhouse style but with personal touches, the clients and I brought the best of worlds together in this beautiful space! Soothing cool tones of blue ground the kitchen throughout and complement the warm wood tones of the new ceiling beams, fixtures, and custom hood accent. The island shows the modern farmhouse “X” detail in a glazed linen finish that appears on the perimeter of the space. Stunning glazed handmade tiles cover the backsplash to provide the perfect pop of color! Faux beams along the sloped ceilings contribute to the farmhouse feel by adding a rustic texture, warmth, and visual interest. Being the foodie enthusiast they are, the clients requested state-of-the-art Dacor appliances with a dual-fuel range and professional refrigerator. And as most of us can relate – there is nothing better than a fresh cup of joe in the morning, so we opted for a built-in coffee maker to make the coffee ritual easy at any time of day!

The stunning fireplace opposite the kitchen in the space needed some love, so gone are the 2000’s tiered stone façade and in place is a clean quartz brick that extends the full height allowing the fireplace to have its own, quiet moment. A rustic wood mantel above the fireplace adds the perfect touch of modern farmhouse warmth and plays nicely with ceiling beams above. A shiplap staircase has been opened to the family room by rotating the whole unit by allowing access from main entry which provided the opportunity to include a metal handrail and faux beam across the opening to create a soft separation of space.
